Julie Noyes - Professional Dog Trainer and Search/Rescue Specialist

Julie Noyes is a dog trainer based in Surprise, Arizona with decades of experience training canines in obedience and scent detection. Her expertise spans diabetic alert, narcotics and explosives detection, bed bug detection, and search and rescue including both live-find and cadaver work. As a dog trainer, Julie Noyes relies on her strong communication skills and deep understanding of canine behavior and ability. She is also an effective problem solver.

From 2005 to 2020, Julie Noyes served as head trainer with the Alert Dog Foundation, where she developed training criteria for diabetic alert dogs, selected and evaluated candidate canines, and led imprinting and response training. She also managed the training budget, ensured quality control, and coached recipients to work effectively with their service dogs. Her role included conducting public presentations at foundation events and fostering partnerships with donors to support the organization’s mission.

Ms. Noyes later moved to Rollins/Orkin as a bed bug detection canine handler. In this position she trained and deployed detection dogs to inspect residential, commercial, and hospitality environments. In addition, she has been a canine handler with FEMA Urban Search and Rescue since 1998, contributing to national disaster response efforts and helping shape training standards. Her deployments include major incidents such as the World Trade Center response, Hurricane Katrina, and Hurricane Rita.

Ms. Noyes holds several certifications including FEMA Live Find Canine Certification and FEMA Human Remains Detection Canine Certification. She also holds a FEMA Confined Space Certification, FEMA WMD Advanced Operations Certification, and a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
